Kyle’s relevant rant…
April 3, 2008
So I’m watching “The South Park” last night — and lo & behold… they are making fun of Canadians (big surprise – still digging “Blame Canada” — which was nominated for an Academy Award don’t you know — and co-written by a Canadian to boot!)
The other thing I noticed is that Trey Parker is digging all the “internet stars” (”Chocolate Rain”, “Star Wars light saber kid”, “Cute Sneezing Panda”, “Leave Britney Alone” guy, “Tron” guy, “Afro Ninja”, etc.) and the “theoretical millions” they are all worth due to the popularity of their sensations.
Here is a sample of the fun in action:
If you need a reference to the various “sensations” named in the clip — you can find it here.
The striking thing to me (well aside from the big dump they take on the Writer’s Guild as well) — and this is what may make me a real geek — is the rant that Kyle did at the very end of the episode about internet business models, content distribution and revenue — fucking brilliant it was.
You can find it here (it might take awhile to download):

Rant starts at the last two minutes of the episode (at around 19:50 — There was a YouTube clip of the specific scene once upon a time — but the bastards at Viacom got it taken down.)
If nothing else, at the end, you get to see the Canadians set their special interest politicians adrift on an ice floe…

I think they stole “Blame Canada” from outsider artist B.J. Snowden (this is the REAL deal):

Uber:
You are correct sir — zipping through it at the same time as doing “real work.”
It is now correct with “Afro Ninja”
