It's not a Google Obsession... it's a fact of life that it's a valid marketing channel that most agencies have no concept or understand how to use for their clients.

It's denying them a source of ROI.... hence why we have your clients calling us to fix your mistakes.

tribble needs to get over his google obsession. it doesn't matter whether wk pops up under ad agency or not. that is not how clients find agencies of that size and the general public doesn't care about our industry anyway (not that they should).

I can't help but giggle each time one of these search engine optijunkers wants to sell me their business. seriously wasted money.

And i'm sure that the first thing fortune 100 companies do when looking for a new agency is hit google with searches like "ad agency"....

Their best best is to find a niche... give a developer/SEO copywriter an afternoon to re-tweak the site to hit that niche... then use it for new business pitches...
i.e. (and this doesn't work.. just an idea): optimize for "problem solvers"... then use that in the pitch...

as for the spamming/shotty meta tagging.. thats just rookie seo work... which might explain the hiring of someone who's hopefully going to take his job to heart starting with his own site first.

Also, just something to note, and they do NOT fall under this category, but it is standard practice to throw in common misspellings of your core keywords, even to sometimes go as far as using PPC (pay per click) tactics on misspellings... i.e. if you were to accidentally type weiden on google an ad might be there with copy reading: "although it's wieden, i won't hold it against you..let's talk"
just my two cents.

I'm glad folks are aware we made this move :-)

Tribble may be right - I'll be the first to admit we've got work to do. But we are committed to doing it. Jason coming on is a key part of that. Since we launched that site, we've been focused more on delivering for clients than in fixing the wk.com jalopy, but SEO is one of the punchlist items to tackle...

Please bear with us - it's Jason's first day!
