Which ex-owner of an ad agency on the West Coast had a major, Courtney Love type meltdown before being asked to leave the shop? The total thaw consisted of taking a swing at a creative director, crashing a rental car, abusing the President of a brand in a full on press meeting and calling a female client a cunt in front of the staff and all of this in ONE day.
Seriously, we couldn’t make this shit up if we tried.

We need more drama like this in the ad world! I saw someone let go freak out, had to call building security. Can’t be good for your career. And thank God Courtney had panties on.

guys, if this is the situation i’ve heard about it, it happened a while ago and perhaps this person is trying to move on with their life. we shouldn’t rehash old news in search of a few chuckles. if you want sensational stories, you can find them in any big agency in america. drugs, alcohol, affairs, prostitutes with clients, believe me, there are tons.

Mad dog, I have to agree. This industry can suck the LIFE out of a person. Constant competition, plenty of backstabbing, all for what? To make some fat client fatter? It can definitely make one “melt down”, as so many caustically put it.

Meh…anyone with half a brain should know what they’re getting into before they get into this industry. If you can’t take it, move to Iowa and do brochures for “Jim’s Autobody Shop” (no offense Jim) and spare us the whining and moaning. It’s no surprise that the Ad word is full of fucking shmucks, that wouldn’t know their asshole from a hole in the wall…but i’m sure George Parker could put it in better terms than me.

The ad world is also full of piece of self-important little turds who think they’re the world’s first revolutionary creative mind and have zero compassion for their fellow man. We ALL moan and whine about our jobs, but only some of us care about the people we work with. So who’s the schmuck?
