So it is a damn slow news day today so far — typical of the agency world, seems everyone mentally checked out yesterday around lunch time and we are gripped in a “must escape the cubical” mentality at the moment.

What do you kids want to chat about?  The floor is open — subject of topics are wide open for discussion — if there is something story-worthy I’ll even whip up a post or two.

I have one big post to publish still — which I’m not sure that I’ll be able to get to today due to a client crisis here (always happens just before you really want to shut down — plus I have a bit of story research to do on it still — research… how novel!)

But if the powers that be don’t take away the car keys from me at the end of the day for my continued show of insolence, I’ll publish either at some point over the weekend or first thing upon my return to normal life on Tuesday.

Do you know anything about the recent change of the Applebee’s spots. No more talking apple (thank god) and now the VO is John Corbett, I believe.

Open floor? No questions or subjects too outlandish? Splendid. Here’s a question I brought up yesterday on George Parker’s Adscam: How do I get internal clients to buy in to the issue of the effacacy of branding? I’ve beaten the drum til I’m deaf and it’s not sinking in. Any suggestions for alternative ways of driving home the point would be greatly appreciated. Tah very much.

Can you show them real-life effective use of it in action and how it is helped other brands in what you are trying to do? (be it in your particular industry — or borrow from another one?)

I find that if I can prove that it works — whether it is directly related or not — it helps for people to picture it at the end of the day and how it will work for them.

    Or am I missing something?
