I am reading some posts here. I can’t help but think how some guys are still so vindictive even after Paul is gone. Whatever happen to “Thou Shall Not Speak Of The Dead.” It seems some guys here can’t think beyond working for some big corporations (all their life) and they think this guy’s death would automatically shoot them up the corporate ladder.
In particular, I have issue with those posts (above) made by a so-called Mr. Burns. ….. Y’all need to get over these gossips and let the dead man’s soul R.I.P.

Seriously, you can’t blame a blogger for doing his thing. Whether or not a blogger or journalist is doing his job ethically right or not it also besides the point. Who is a judge of what is right or wrong? God? Jimminy Crip, gimme a break!

This shit comes with the business. If you cannot take the fact that people talk about you and your work, you shouldn’t be in the front-lines of this business. It is totally insane to conjecture that any improper journalistic act has to do with his death. What would that say about the individual? It is totally respectless to his family to continue this type of conjecture. But, no, we’re gonna keep writing about this because it satisfies our sick need to speculate about other people’s lives and make our opinion heard. Just stop this nonsense and have a little respect for fuck’s sake.

I don´t think the debate is being either reasonable, nor responsible.

People are far too lightly analyzing an aledged suicide, which, by the way is the sixth death cause in people under 40 yrs old.
And it´s quite complex, and exposing things that shouldn´t be, not only because it´s disrespectful, but also because it´s against any journalism protocol on suicide.

Words matter. You write them and now you don’t want to take any responsibility for them. You don’t get to say that it’s “unacceptable” to speculate that your meanness drove this man to suicide. Perhaps it did. Perhaps you should think before you write. Life is about more than entertaining your readers or bashing people.

Typical advertising. Civilization existed for centuries without it. Get some perspective. Paul was MUCH bigger than advertising. This blog belongs on a site for suicide and despair–it has nothing to do with advertising.
You can’t apply rational thinking to suicidal thoughts. Trust me, the thoughts, “Fuck my family, I’m taking the easy way out.” NEVER went through Paul’s mind.
I hope his wife and children never know how it feels to be suicidal. But if they can somehow understand that in the clouded mind of a suicidal thinker, he thinks this is helping his family, perhaps they can find some peace. He never thought of this as turning his back on them. I’m sure you’ll condemn him for that, but your mind (presumably) is working correctly. His was not. I stay away from terms like sane/insane and rational/irrational. Paul appeared sane and rational in all aspects save this one.
As the wife of an ad-man, I know this business sucks the life and the best years from a person. I also know those who are doing what they love and are the best-of-the-best wouldn’t have it any other way.
As someone who has suffered from depression, I know Paul really felt he had no other choice. He was tricked by his own mind into believing that his family would be better off without him. I don’t expect you to understand and from reading many of the previous posts I don’t think you’ll try.
Paul was brillant, witty and charismatic. As I sat listening to the eloquent speakers at his funeral, I thought, “Paul would give a great tribute at a friend’s funeral. I wish he was here.”

Have at it sharks…create your own importance.
