Men Vs. Women

Hi.

We are trying to figure out the ratio of men to women in the ad business. More specifically, the number of producers, creatives and planners by sex. Can anyone help? If you don’t have a lead on a larger study, what’s the breakdown at your agency?
Please leave a comment or email us at agencyspy at mediabistro dot com.

THANKS a million,

If you read Adweak, there are apparently no women in the biz. At all. Bummer.

  2. jinja Says:

I agree. it’s not a women concept. today, who feel being in war are men. because of women emancipation and their struggle in life, roles are changed. another thing: the creative idea start with an overpromise developing that has not been reached. I’m disappointed by the close of the spot.

  3. Fly on the wall Says:

    Last agency i worked at-
    Accounts-75% women
    Creative-50% women

    Current agency-
    Accounts-85% women
    Creative-30% women

  4. Greg Says:

    current agency
creative: 90% male (two lady art directors)
    producers & PM’s: 100% female
accounts & planning: on another floor.

    last agency:
    creative:100% male (7)
    accounts and producers:100% female (3)

which is weird, because as an industry I feel like it’s fairly even.

  5. question Says:

why do you think there are fewer women in creative? Are women not aggressive enough to get their ideas heard?

  6. should've been an I-banker Says:

there are fewer men on the account side because the pay is lower (junior – mid career anyway), and are still often the “breadwinner” in family situations. lot’s of women I work with (i’m a guy), are married/date men who make much more money than I ever will.

  7. superspy Says:

    Deutsch Creatives =
    29 Men
3 Women (only one in an ECD postion, the other 2 are
    art directors)

    Deutsch Production =
    3 Men
    13 Women

  8. token? Says:

Current agency – 9 creatives, one woman (me)

    Previous agency – 24 creatives, 3 women

Agency before that – 12 creatives, one woman (me)
