Dove Should Hire Jennifer Love Hewitt
December 3, 2007
Remember way back when we were talking about Dove and how the brand wanted to enlist yet-unnamed celebrities to appear at events to reveal how their actual on-screen persona comes into being with an army of beauty professionals? We were hoping that it would be Jessica Simpson. It would be awesome to see girlfriend attempt to rocking a weave. That’s a long shot, so we’d like to throw Jennifer Love Hewitt’s name into the ring. She recently had some snaps taken of her at the beach. The resulting brew-ha-ha was massive with bloggers and celeb rags calling her fat. JLH has posted this missive on her MySpace page on her site:
I’ve sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women’s bodies are constantly scrutinized. To set the record straight, I’m not upset for me, but for all of the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.
A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being a size 0 doesn’t make you beautiful. What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles. I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family. And like all women out there should, I love my body.
To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini – put it on and stay strong.
Xoxo
We’ve never spent a moment a though on Jen before, but we are now. Kudos to her.

My bro’s an EMT and - of all the bloody car-wrecks he’s been to - none had as much impact on him as watching a 14-year-old anorexic die silently in his arms.

She looks better here than just about anywhere else i’ve seen her.
I’ve always thought that people who lust after the unnaturally skinny girls are sublimating a desire for little boys.

It’s all very weird… Every mag and TV station features skinny women with big knockers. Then you read that America has an “obesity” problem. It’s the media… And unfortunately advertising people… Which is us guys… And don’t give me shit that if a client wanted you to shoot the classic size zero fashionista, rather than the 180 pound zoftig woman you had in mind… You’d tell him to fuck off. It doesn’t work that way…

I hate celebrity and magazines idealising a body shape which is neither attractive or achievable for 99.9% of the female population.
My point here though is whether she is insinuating that she is a size 2? If I’m correct that is a UK 6 and there is absolutely no way that is true judging by the pictures above, no matter what angle they were taken from. To me, it is almost as damaging to disguise a normal body shape with an unachievable size tag as it is to idealise a size 0.
It’s about time women stopped being afraid to be honest about their bodies and pretending to be a smaller size than you appear to be isn’t helping enough.

she’s probably a size two at the gap, which any woman knows is most definitely NOT a real size two.
