Bedding manufacturer Sealy has selected Cramer-Krasselt (the country’s third-largest independent advertising agency) as its agency of record.

Larry Rogers, President of Sealy North America, told CNN that: “We have exciting plans for 2008 including several major new product introductions, so it was essential for us to find a partner with a proven track record in innovative thinking and breakthrough creative.”

Peter Krivkovich, president and CEO of Cramer-Krasselt said: “There’s a lot of ‘mattress-speak’ in the industry that confuses consumers, and we look forward to seizing the opportunity to change the category conversation.”

Cramer-Krasselt is agency of record for Corona, Heinz, TV Guide and Porsche North America. The agency had billings of almost $800 million in 2006.

It’s no surprise that C-K is doing well and having some successes – for starters their NY office has one of the best “leaders” in this industry, Jeff Johnson, who’s the COO of NY and truly one of the best guys around in the business today….the creative team there is also top drawer…this is a truly a good group and one to which advertisers should pay attention.

who are some of the other top independent agencies? Never really looked into them. Might be interesting.

Red Tettemer in Philadelphia is definitely worth looking at. Great work, totally independent. Many others, none come to mind at the moment…
