Microsoft purchases a 1.6-per-cent stake in Facebook, Inc. for $240-million, beating out bids from a list of competitors that included Google. The deal pegged the value of Facebook at $15-billion. Really? Facebook is worth $15B? The BBC thinks so. The deal also gives Microsoft exclusive rights to act as ad seller on Facebook using Microsoft software internationally, and expands the original U.S. advertising partnership the that was created in August, 2006.
