Yesterday, we wrote an article about the new marketing ploy for the Andy’s, Instacritique. We said it could of been better, stronger, more fun and provided a method through, which all of us ad folk could participate with the awards.

AdWeek also covered the new site with an article titled, “Andy’s Faux Site Causes A Stir.” Did it? Other than our big mouths, we didn’t find any other blogs critiquing the site or even saying more than – “this thing exists.” There aren’t even any comments attached to our entry. Ah AdWeek… always creating an angle. They did ask the brains behind the site, Mark Waites, CD, Mother, London, what he thought about this mythical “stir.” His response:

“I’m just glad the judges took the time out of their days to do the amount of filming that they did.”

AdWeek never pushes on their interview subjects and we get that.  ‘Week just reports (and they do a good job at it), while rarely questioning. That’s fine. That’s their M.O. However, we were actually hoping to find out why Waites didn’t go the extra mile with Instacritique. Not enough cash? Not enough time or was it just, let’s get this thing done? Just curious.
