Special K (no, not the drug, the cereal) recently had their new broadcast spot pulled by the ASA for ‘misleading’ nutritional claims. Here’s the weird thing… the campaign received three complaints from viewers who challenged whether the claim “contains extra protein and fibre” is misleading because the product contained less protein than Special K original. The JWT spot is no longer allowed to be aired in its current form. So, erm… consumers called in about Special K against, um, Special K? Talk about brand devotion.
