Old Navy Makes A Hit Tune

It’s still fascinating to us that commercials are creating iTunes hits such as the spot for Gears Of War featuring the tune “Mad World.”
Now, unsigned artist Ingrid Michaelson has a hit song due to the Old Navy ad (see above) featuring her tune “The Way I Am.” Ingrid also had a song of hers featured in the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy.

Thought I should share that “Mad World” was featured in Donnie Darko, circa 2001, and I’m sure it was around even before that.
There was also a techno remix of it a couple years later that’s pretty good, and that was featured in a number of DJ mixes around then.

the song is the best thing about that spot. i kinda miss performance fleece ads.
