To celebrate our fast slide into what will be the first weekend in weeks we haven’t been chained to our computers, it’s time to get wacky. We kicked things off today with a little Paris, and then that funny Al Gore video (congrats to Martin on winning the account) and now, a fun little tidbit about NYC’s advertising industry and cocaine.

Radar magazine sent one of their writers out to sniff a little gutter glitter in public locations to see whether anyone would give a fig. At a midtown Starbucks, the supposed coke fiend offered a line to some random guy:

“I joke to a dandyish white male in his early thirties that at these prices he’s better off doing blow than buying $4 grande cafĂ© lattes. He laughs. I follow him to the milk station, where I offer him a plastic baggie. He says he’d love to indulge, but he’s scheduled to deliver a presentation at his ad agency in 20 minutes.”

Sweet. The mag doesn’t say whether the guy standing behind Radar’s sniffer is the “ad agency” guy, but holy-moly Batman what if it was?

that guy looks more like he’s 25 and works for a rich media vendor than 30ish and agency-side.
