You’ve seen it a thousand times already, so we’re not going to bother talking about how the new Cadbury commercial is perfect genius. However, we’d like to point out that we think we may know where the golden nugget of the idea came from. Ever heard of The Mighty Boosh? It’s a British TV show created by Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding that if you ask us, also helped the kids from Flight Of The Conchord get their shot. Both shows feature musical interludes and are about the adventures of two funny, dead pan young men in a band. If you like one, you’ll probably like the other, though of course, The Mighty Boosh has the Brit comedy weird acid-trip like thing going on.

In any case, the hit show TMB features a recurring gorilla named Bollo who leaves the zoo to become a DJ and live the with two main characters. Bollo also plays the drums. Yup. We love that anyone Stateside watches the show and gawd - do we hope that’s where the creatives  at Fallon got their inspiration. Check out the video above from an episode of the Boosh, which features the song “The Ape Of Death.”
