Wieden+Kennedy has announced that it has recently received its certification for incorporation from the Indian government to open W+K India. The company has already leased space in Delhi. The company is reportedly in the process of staffing the office. Dave Luhr, Global COO, W+K, said that, “Our first priority will be to service the Nokia business in India. Long-term, we will grow our Delhi operation with a mixture of multinational and local accounts. We are deep into the process of meeting with potential candidates in India and expect to be making announcements in the coming weeks about new hires for our India office.”

W+K has eight offices in Portland, New York, London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing and now Delhi.

Other agencies in India:

Leo Burnett, Ogilvy & Mather , Tribal DDB, J. Walter Thompson, McCann-Erickson, Grey, Euro RSCG, Saatchi and Saatchi, TBWA and… and… are we forgetting anyone?

Lowe also has an office there. And the last vestiges of WPP’s Bates Worldwide, now BatesAsia, does some great work in India too.
Rather surprised that W+K opened in Delhi instead of Mumbai, but I’ll bet they know what they’re doing.

Could someone tell me when W+K Delhi gets back to candidates? I’m getting increasingly nervous.
