Here’s one of the new Geico spots we mentioned featuring Ben Winkler and created by The Martin Agency. Love it or hate it?

I think it’s not terrifyingly bad but not exactly noteworthy or memorable either. just meh. considering that this is geico we’re talking about, I think it’s a fumble. but hey, that’s just me and the bar was set pretty high.

    lame.

Martin/Geico love to experiment. They win some, they lose some. It is all based on calls generated at the time the spots are on air – sort of a DRTV approach without the directness. If they work, they work. If they don’t, expect new creative.

  4. They paid people money to make that?

  5. Nick Says:

Not the most successful of the Geicos, but still better than any other car insurer ad I can think of (which I can’t b/c they’re all so forgettable). So yes, they do pay people money for that. Hopefully the next batch will be back on track.

This campaign is old and this new infusion of the same old joke proves it.

  7. Tammy Says:

There are so many envious people here! The ad is great, I laughed my ass off and at the end of it all I have Geico…
