What Type Of Lingerie Girl Are You?

Ex-supermodel Elle MacPherson has a lingerie line. Who knew? Who knew that she also spends big dollars on her advertising campaigns? Elle’s website is loaded down with a digital magazine, several high end lookbooks, as well as short commercials. Maybe that’s why her website is one of the slowest loading sites we’ve been on in eons. Truly annoying.

In any case, she’s taken this all one step further with Saucergirl (see above). In this soundless spot, a young woman, perfectly poised in a MacPherson lingerie set, makes saucers float. Then there’s Bubblegirl, who – you guessed it – creates perfectly round bubbles from her lips. Oh! There’s also Bombergirl, Tubagirl, Balloongirl and Jokergirl each with their own talents and (slight) personalities. All of the ladies are between 18 and 22 and each comes with her own MySpace page. We really like the feel and length of the short videos created by The Glue Society. They’ve managed to put a younger and real world spin on the whole concept of lingerie, which has been much needed. Victoria’s Secret is for 36-year old married women looking to spice things up and 17-year olds who want a serious push up bra. The brand has identified a gap in the marketplace and nicely – filled it.

We only wish that their MySpace pages reflected a more varied age range – say, 18 to 32. That way Elle could of gotten all those urbanite, single women who like their lingerie a little dark and have the means to pay for it too. We think some of these women are more like 28 anyway. They should just say so, but we guess… they did the youth thing for the boys, which is faulty logic. First off – how many MySpace young men wouldn’t love to have a 28 year old hot chick play their tuba? Secondly, only old dudes buy their chicks lingerie (especially if they’re cheating on their wives) and those guys – they ain’t on MySpace and they’re certainly going to get something more expensive the Elle’s price point (bras range from $24.99 and up).
