Before you do – watch this video. Leo Burnett (October 21, 1891 – June 7, 1971) was so fantastic. He’s like the FDR of agency CEOs. In this vintage video, he talks about when it’s time to remove his name from the door. He demands that his employees do that the moment “you spend more time making money, then making advertising.” He goes on to talk about the special creativity and restlessness that advertising should embody. Very inspiring. It had us remembering why we got into the industry, which when you’re filling out an RFP or cutting a demo or managing a client is so easy to lose sight off. This is a must watch.

Do you who work at Leo Burnett Worldwide? After watching this video, do you think the agency is still as Mr. Burnett envisions it or has it changed and headed off to the dark side? Email us at agencyspy at mediabistro dot com or leave a comment.
