W+K Wins Nokia’s Heart And Mind And Handset Account

Hot on the heels of winning the Visa/Fifa account, W+K has gone and done it again. The shop has beat out JWT and the very fine independent agency Mother to be the global lead creative agency for the brand’s core mobile phones business. Wieden + Kennedy replaces Grey Advertising (the poor ol’ gal) in Europe and Bates in the Asia-Pacific region. The value of the account is estimated at 300 million dollars. Jo Harlow, Nokia’s senior veep of marketing for mobile phones had this to say about W+K: “We expect this relationship to help take us to our goal of becoming the most loved and admired iconic brand.” Read More Here
Nokia has divided the review into two parts – creative and network distribution. The winner of Nokia’s network distribution business is expected to be announced shortly with JWT, Grey Worldwide, Nokia’s shop in Asia; and DDB Worldwide all vying for the top spot.
