What The… Elizabeth Hurley’s New Ad Campaign
July 2, 2007
You remember Elizabeth Hurley right? She was the tall drink of water in such films as Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Passenger 57 and the overlooked, yet fabulously horrible film Bedazzled. Elizabeth also hawks a beachwear line that includes children’s swimsuits. Okay, that’s all fine and good even if the swimwear is a lil’ bit Britney Spears for a five year old. What’s not okay is that Ms. Hurley recently used a photo of her son Damian in a neon pink two piece for her recent ad campaign. She had to take it down due to consumer outrage. Here’s the pull quote from the “we print everything – fit or not” News Of The World:
Liz, 43, has been slammed for thoughtlessly humiliating the five-year-old in a “Milly Bikini” to help flog her £40-a-time outfits for girls. The source added: “Liz suggested Damian pose in the bikini. Other people were uncomfortable with it but she insisted.”
Bizarre and yet, true. Totally earns a place in our “What The…” category.
