Get In Now: RCRDLBL

Peter Rojas, founder of the number one blog on the internet, Engadget, is gearing up to launch his next big endeavor, RCRD LBL. Everyone hold tight. The site is set to redefine the way advertisers participate in our current digital download culture and the basic idea of a real world record label. Paired with hot music label Downtown Records, (home of Gnarls Barkely, Art Brut, Eagles Of Death Metal) is a:

“music company for the digital generation. RCRD LBL is a network of advertiser-supported niche online record labels offering free exclusive content from top emerging and marquee artists to an audience of highly desirable and market-savvy influencers and consumers.”

Blah, blah, blah… what it means is that RCRD LBL is going to pay artists out right for individual previously unreleased tracks. This online only label has already got promises from Mos Def, White Rabbits, Cold War Kids and some of the hottest indie bands and DJs out there. Then, the site will offer the tracks for free to consumers. And yes kids – it’s legal! Think of the web stats this site is going to generate!

Advertisers can buy into the site through specially created widgets (which means your message goes anywhere the widget goes and ain’t that hot), content and some other creative media. We’re creaming ourselves just thinking about it and you should be too.

Don’t make the same mistake that planners and buyers made with other hot online ventures like Second Life. It’s never cool to be fashionably late in the ad game.
